About Us

What We Do

  • Access Success is a nonprofit, community supported organization dedicated to supporting disabled students interested in STEM fields through a variety of ways such as one-on-one mentorships with disabled scientists, mentor and mentee group support, networking opportunities, and more.
  • We rely entirely on volunteers for our mentors and just started up so matching may be slow.
  • To learn more or help us start up, check out our discord! As hyperlinks arent available through this platform, you may copy/paste or scroll to the bottom of this page to our "website" link to be taken there directly.

  • This website is unfortunately not capable of hyperlinks and thus is not accessible. Please see our Twitter @AccessSuccess20 for more frequent updates while we look to rectify this issue. We apologize for this oversight, and our look for a more permanent and accessible website to host ours on as we develop our organization further.

FAQ and More

  • Who can apply?: Anyone who identifies as disabled and interested in STEM may apply!
  • Is this just for the US?: Nope! We are an international organization and welcome anyone who wants to join!
  • Are social sciences included?: We as an organization do believe social sciences are valid sciences and are a crucial part of STEM. Anyone in or interested in social sciences is welcome here!
  • Is medicine included?: Medicine is also included! While many people consider it its own category, medicine is still STEM and those in or interested in medicine may be part of this organization, though we ask that you do not offer unsolicited medical advice to our members.
  • Who is the target audience?: We are mainly geared towards middle and high school aged students for mentees, and college level and above for mentors, but anyone is welcome to join at any age!
  • Can you be a mentor and a mentee at the same time?: Yes, absolutely! We function as a "chain of command" type organization going by seniority/experience, so it is entirely possible and welcome for you to both mentor someone younger/less experienced than you, while also having a mentor yourself.

Current Services

Current Services

  • Disabled students interested in STEM will be matched with disabled scientists and other professionals according to fields of interest, preferred length of the program, preferred hosting communication site, and classification of disability.
  • Other factors are available and optional for requesting matches, but may delay the matching process.
  • Group communication between all mentors and mentees on various sites like Twitter, Discord, Skype, Instagram, and more. Currently we are starting with only Discord as this is easiest for us to manage.
  • Private mentee-specific and mentor-specific group communications within servers
